Greg Conn grew up on a small family farm in the western part of the Texas Panhandle forty miles west of Amarillo. He graduated from Vega High School with a class of 26 people. Being raised on a farm and learning a good work ethic from the example of his parents were instrumental in shaping Greg’s can-do attitude and resourcefulness.  Greg entered the workforce and for 21 years worked in the Road & Bridge Division for two counties in the Texas Panhandle and as a Water Superintendent for the City of Vega.

Today Greg is the Manager of the Federal Surplus Property Program for the State of Texas. This federal program is administered through the Texas Facilities Commission by a cooperative agreement with the General Services Administration.  Greg has been with the Texas Federal Surplus Program for 9 years.  The Texas Federal Surplus Property Program is a program that makes surplus personal property from federal agencies available to eligible participants such as counties, state agencies, cities, school districts, non-profits homeless providers and non-profit health organizations, SBA8(a) businesses and similar entities.  This federal program is not open to the general public.

Greg’s experience with local government agencies uniquely qualifies him as Manager of the Federal Surplus Property Program.  His first-hand knowledge and desire to serve contributes to how the Federal Surplus Property program can help these agencies acquire federal donations through the General Services Administration Personal Property Donation Program.

Greg also is the Vice President of the National Association of State Agencies for Surplus Property and serves on the NASASP Legislative Committee  and chairs the Technology Committee.  Greg lives in Georgetown with his wife Karen. They have been married for 29 years. Greg & Karen have 3 grown children and 2 granddaughters ages 5 & 7.
